This is one of my very early works created for a solo show while studying at the University of Iowa. The Foil Imaging process was born out of the print making department where I studied under it’s inventor, Virginia Myers. There was only a beginning class made up of students from all disciplines experimenting, discovering and recording techniques. I was fortunate to be one of those. I took the first class ever offered, but when I wanted to do more I could only do independent study. This piece utilizes a technique I pioneered, the photo copy transfer process. My technique is included in the first book ever published about Foil Imaging. Many thanks to Virginia for all of her encouragement and vision! Without her, I would probably be still searching for my artistic voice.
