I opened a frame shop in 1994 called Claim to Frame. It was my way of “supporting my art habit” while making a steady income as a business owner. Little did I know, at the young age of 24, that owning your own business was not necessarily a steady income. Over the years I grew to love framing and working with clients. I loved owning a business and all of the hats I got to wear making it a success.

In the framing business there is a fair amount of what I would call unavoidable, but very usable waste. As a part of the early recycle generation and my nature to see everything as a possibility for creativity, i developed many uses for the bits and pieces that would have otherwise gotten tossed. These mini works are some of my favorites from that time. I created little foil gem originals to use even the smallest product remnants. And they sold like hot cakes! After all these years I found 4 little gems that need homes. Grab one today before they are gone!
