This is one of the first of my works combining roll leaf foil on canvas with acrylic paints. Up until this time I worked primarily with foil on paper or aluminum with no additional mediums. I was a “purist” when it came to my foils, wanting to use all foil for all colors in my pieces. It was a matter of trial and error as I explored applications of the foils onto canvas that was already on stretcher bars. The challenges proved to be cumbersome, thus I moved on to other means and methods for combining foil and acrylics.
