Foil is a very demanding medium. Working over a hot plate, patience, no ability to mix and let colors flow…. I retreat to watercolor and pastel work to loosen my body and calm my mind. This is part of the play art that keeps me fresh for my passion for Foil Imaging.

This collection also embraces a journey that I had into figurative study. This particular print was originally a woodcut print. Over time I found that as well as I could draw figures and representational work, I did not enjoy it. My work began to feel stifled and contrived. After this phase I moved into free abstracted color expressions. I have since moved into fully embracing the wild and provocative color pallet with all it’s reflection and unique qualities, but these pieces have a special place in my heart.
