In my early exploration of foils I was influenced by print makers, therefore I used lots of white space surrounding my pieces, true to the printmaking technique. This space always felt like an unnatural border conflicting with my natural expression, so I took great pleasure in pushing at it’s boundaries. Even now you will see irregular boarders in my work. I do continue to enjoy the use of white space in my pieces which lends itself to the feeling of color explosions on the page.
