I am an absolute lover of the outdoors! Flower, water, rocks, dirt, insects, birds, the sky and the list could go on forever. I delved into flowers and gardens for a season. I really enjoyed the work, but ultimately I felt like I could never do justice to what God had already so beautifully created. I longed to create something new every day, like He does with the sunrise and sunset.

This dissatisfaction lead to deeper exploration of abstract work and also represents the beginning of some of my early foil collage works with paper. I worked with mixed media collage in college making wearable art I called Epaulettes. As I began to explore collage with paper some of this early discipline began to reemerge in my work.
